The morning dew is heavy, and the smell of wet earth fills the air. Out of control winds from a recent storm destroyed my patio table. Miraculously the red umbrella survived.
Hubs became a one man clean up crew on the glass, while I worked diligently on getting all the debris out of the pool.
This morning’s patio time seems odd. As the crickets sing their evening tunes the sky is almost night like. Looking around at the patio, it is evident that a clean up is necessary. Leaves, petals, dirt and grass are everywhere. An out of control storm left a mess.
It’s not the end of the world. The effects this time are manageable and will be forgotten. An inconvenience to replace the table and a slight tug on the pocketbook will not destroy me.
I can’t help but reflect on the times in my life, when I’ve been out of control and caused damage. Damage that lasted, that effected those who loved me.
I’ve needed damage control most of my life. Like the faithful employee that brings the mop to the pickle aisle, when a jar slips from my hurried out of control, I’ve been in here for two hours talking to everyone hand.
The Lord has blessed me beyond what I deserve. I have an amazing clean up crew. We are a team and HE is the Supervisor.
As the sun works hard this morning to brighten the day. I reflect on the importance and blessings that a clean up crew can bring. While I lift up gratitude to my Maker, he challenges me to be that crew member for others.
How bout you? Do you need a clean up on aisle 7 or are you the one carrying the mop?
