Sitting quietly at my desk, I could hear the tweets outside chirping a lovely tune. Their melody soft and sweet moved through the edges of the closed window. Opening my spirit and leading me into a gentle conversation with the Lord, our words flowed as sweetly as their tune.

I was available. Sitting, waiting and listening. The birds in the yard were ready, and the conductor and creator moved those tweets to singing. When their tune reached my ears it moved me to converse with God. He was available.

So often, our days involve chaos and lots of craziness and our ears are not open. At times our hearts are broken and our feelings are so hurt that our spirit isn’t even open. Many times we fill our schedules by saying “yes” to projects we don’t really have a passion for but, want to please the person asking. Children are a blessing from the Lord however, caring for them and managing their activity calendar can suck out all of our energy.
Stop.. where you are! Be available right where God has you at this moment.

Are you sitting in your car at your child’s school waiting in line for pick up…then roll down your window and open your ears….you could be missing the bird band that God has playing sweetly just for you. Have you left the house angry, hurt or even depressed…..when you get where you’re going open your eyes….hold a door for someone, do a pay’it’backwards in the sonic line, smile and greet a stranger….be available. The conductor has orchestrated an opportunity just for you, to show the world HIS love, to tell someone HIS story. He is available 24/7 . Ready to give you peace, comfort, healing and calling you into a conversation with him….are you allowing your spirit to receive him?

I hope you’ll join me as we make the choice to be available to Jesus, where ever we are and whatever we are doing. He will prepare the place and opportunity for us…..we just need to be available.
