I recently met a friend for coffee. We sat’n’sipped sharing pieces of our current seasons in life. Both of us are in the same position even though we are going through totally different things. We are ladies in waiting…waiting to hear from the Master. Our hearts are heavy, our minds are unclear and we must trust and not fear.
I was raised not to wait…and not to ask for help. If something needed mending, fixed or figured out you rolled up your sleeves and got it done. I will say that the end result was a little less than perfect a time or two. My inability to wait for wisdom, direction or help has landed me many times in deep…manure. I do not live this way anymore..now I know HE is worth waiting for!
I love to read the Psalms of David. He knew what it was like to wait on the Lord and expresses the hurt and joy so well. I hope you’ll join me and read:
Psalm 28:6-7 Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
Whatever season you are in right now, while you wait….trust.. He is listening and working on your behalf.
“Lord, you and your ways are perfect every time. Give us courage to wait on you, and strength to follow you. In Jesus name Amen.”
