Slipping out the back door, I tiptoed through the lightly frozen grass with a steaming mug in one hand and a towel for my chair in the other. This morning was slightly different as I had already accomplished several chores before the sun even thought about rising. Now that it was up and warming up the frost that covered the patio furniture, I snuck out to take a break. The beauty in the frozen crystals as the sun hit them were magnificent. The crisp air moving in and out of my body was refreshing, and the hot tea kept me cozy. I turned my face towards the sun with it’s healing rays.Every nook and cranny of negativity in my body was being released.. In Malachi 4:2 God says; But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like a well-fed calves.
I know you find this hard to believe but, I wasn’t out there dancing in the yard amongst the shiny grass….or was I? Hee Hee. My heart and soul were definitely getting well fed as the sun nourished my weary body, and my whispers of prayers were going up to the Father. Just sitting at his feet, offering up praises in the frosty morning, while basking in his Son is to me, the most perfect, positive place on earth to be. This makes all right in the world of a girl who struggles with the crippling emotion of negativity. At times she wears this emotion like an ugly Christmas sweater.
This season as you choose carefully which ugly sweater to wear, I hope you’ll join me and not put on the ugly emotion of negativity. I hope you’ll choose your words and thoughts carefully, lovingly, positively… and may we be reminded that the things we say, or don’t say, our actions and our negative thoughts could impact someone we love in the worst way. What kind of gift would that be?!
“Father, we choose to sit at your feet and offer praises to you…basking and frolicking in your Son. We long to wear the beauty of your truths and not the ugliness of sin. Show us what to do, and breath your words into us Lord. In Jesus name Amen.”
