The living room floor is hard to find, it is the morning after Christmas day. The kitchen sink is buried and the counter tops are messy. The dishwasher needs unloading and loaded again. I just heard someone say through sleepy eyes “I’m hungry, what’s for breakfast?” As I make my way to the kitchen all I can think of is Jesus and coffee but first…. I must fry bacon.
After the meal is ready, I make my cup of steaming tranquility and retreat into the art room. Signs of Christmas are here as well, there are drying art projects and dirty paint brushes scattered on the table. I close an eye to the mess and open my bible. The rain outside and sipping my coffee are the perfect blend to get my mind awake. I start to read again the story of Jesus birth, for me the celebration of this love story doesn’t end Christmas day. I love Jesus. Despite everything around me we have a two sided relationship that draws us both into daily communion with each other, and it is a growing love story.
Mary and Joseph’s love story is inspiring, against all odds it grew. They each loved God, each other and then Jesus. Joseph was fearful and could have ended the relationship; he could have told Mary that he didn’t love her. As it was he wasn’t going to argue with an angel and a message from God that said “do not be afraid.”
Not all love stories go this way.
I’m not sure where you are in your story with God but….do not be afraid.
It’s possible that you are searching for that person to love….do not be afraid.
Your heart and marriage may be torn into pieces from the words “I don’t love you”……do not be afraid.
As you hold the hand of a loved one grieving love lost…..do not be afraid.
Just as the angel told Mary and Joseph to not be afraid the message is true for all of us. Jesus name encouragingly means; the Lord saves.
HE can save you from Satan’s grip but you must come into a relationship with him.
HE can save you from choosing the wrong marriage partner.
HE can save your broken marriage.
HE can save you when your marriage breaks.
HE can save others through you and your obedience to him.
And so the love story goes on and on……………..
Join me today and keep the celebration going through our relationship with Jesus.
“Thank you God for saving us and continuing to save us. Let us not be fearful, but to trust you always with everything. In Jesus name Amen.”
