I don’t usually write on or have much of an opinion on issues going on in the world, mostly due to the fact that I have my hands full with my own issues. I got issues, I need tissues!! However, as I caught up on emails and sipped a yummy cup of tea I came across a video of Caitlyn Jenner coming out of a hotel getting into a car. As I caught a glimpse of the hair, the makeup, the designer clothing, expensive jewelry and the hunk of a bodyguard with his hand on Caitlyn’s waist it all gave me such a jolt. I had to click on the video. Seeing the astonishing transformation results, I was squinting in disbelief. I watched it a couple times. After it all sunk in, my heart hurt. It hurt for those struggling in the world with becoming a different sex…this person wants to be their role model! To me Caitlyn is just another bad example of good body image for the common person struggling with gender issues, weight issues, body shape issues. To me his journey to becoming her….is truly all about him. None, if a slight few gender changers have the luxury of millions of dollars to purchase years and years of hormone therapy, plastic surgery, hair extensions, designer clothing and Hollywood make-up products and the artist to apply it all. Just like for us gender solid gals, looking to magazine models, Victoria Secret models and the likes can leave us with worse feelings about our own looks. None of us need anymore unrealistic role models. So many are practically wearing their bodies out now killing it at the gym and joining those fad exercise groups to achieve a look that mostly only happens for the rich and “privileged” …there I dropped that card too!
My heart goes out too and I love ALL the strugglers in the world, I can relate. However, I’m still bumfuzzled at the whole men wanting to be women….I’m a woman and it ain’t all lipstick and nail polish!
Join me today as we look for role models who lead pure, lovely, noble, wholesome lives and daily show selfless acts of mercy, faith and kindness. Let us be reminded that ALL people communities are struggling with one thing or another and…. so are we….so… love don’t hate.
“Father, we ALL are struggling with issues and need your help. In Jesus name Amen.”
