The concept of sipping coffee doused in heavy flavored cream, while sitting on the patio reflecting on life and faith while blogging it all down, seems a tad frivolous today. However the sincerity and conviction with where the words come from are not.
Over the course of following the Ferguson Mo. situation and now NY my heart became heavy. The more I keep the TV on the news stations the more my heart aches. I find myself without joy to celebrate Christmas. Thousands of words, thoughts and prayers are tossing around in my head daily…nightly. I find myself searching deeper for the most meaningful things to write or say with the hopes of bringing peace, healing, strength and courage. When God speaks, I write.
During my conversations with HIM, I hear HIS words “TRUE JOY”.
Before I even read the words printed by Bernie Kerik “War Is Being Waged on Our Homeland” my mind and heart were already in accord.
While I type this I am convinced that Satan has come to steal, kill and destroy. John 10:10. He alludes us and attacks when we aren’t looking.
Our war is raging. We are all at fault. The sin of racism has lived a longtime and it still lives. The wounded have never allowed healing, they rely on their hurt to fuel them, not free them. As real as this is, and as painful as it is the devil is using it as a diversion. He wants our souls. He wants us to blame God, hate not love our brothers of all colors, disrespect authority and mostly he wants believers to be burdened, silent and forget their joy in salvation…joy in Jesus. He wants to keep the unsaved from accepting, and to turn all against each other thus leaving all without TRUE JOY.
I keep humming this carol….God rest ye merry gentlemen, let nothing you dismay, remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas day, to save us all from Satan’s power when we were gone astray….O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy….O tidings of comfort and joy!
Your war demands peace. A savior was already born, he won and still fights for you. Will you joyously live, love and celebrate his birth daily?
