Last night the sun slowly faded behind the trees. As I watered my blooms I remembered my Mother and her green thumb. Her yard was alive with fragrant vibrant blooms. The neighborhood could eat for weeks off of her hearty vegetable garden. These memories danced around in my mind and heart while I piddled around on the patio.
This morning as I wake and make some plans for the Memorial weekend, I come across a t-shirt with the American flag. My heart fills with gratefulness for my many freedom’s. My mind wanders remembering all my loved ones and friends who have passed from this life. Some of them served our country and some our community. I am blessed to have had them in my life.
As I sip tea from my “Mom” cup this morning, I could walk down memory lane and visit the hurtful places and people that made my life not so free. In doing so I would lose focus on the fact that I am indeed “FREE”. So with that freedom I choose to linger in the memories of good things, good people and good times. And to never forget……..
