Waking this morning to the faint smell of earthy smoked firewood, brings a smile as I remember last night’s lounging by the fireplace.
As I held my Gbaby, we cuddled in a heavy yet soft razorback blanket. As my fingers lightly smoothed her soft golden locks, my eyes moved from the flame to the blanket. This blanket covered and cuddled my Hubs for seven months while he laid his head down in a foreign land. It gives me comfort knowing that my prayers for his comfort were simply answered. He loves this blanket he says it’s so comfortable, and he’s right.
As I look now around the house, I see a mess. Dishes in the sink, messy counters and a full kitchen table. Before I roll up my sleeves, I smile at the precious moments spent last night cuddling with my little love. I’m smiling at how God comforted Hubs when he was so far away from the comforts of home.
Doing chores with a smile, now that’s a new one!
