Have you ever heard the phrase “None Ya”? It refers to “none of your business”.
While hanging out with my daughter and two very good friends, the subject of lying and liars came up. I boldly stated that when I ask someone a question I would rather have them tell me it’s none of my business than have them lie to me.
My daughter did a short mostly false but funny, dramatic impersonation of my response when being told that it was none of my business. The other two had to agree, that they didn’t think I would be satisfied with that answer, that I might even get a little “sassy” to the person telling me this. Me? sassy? never!
Well, while I dearly love all three of them, I don’t think they were all wrong, or all right in their thinking. Nobody really likes being told that something is “None Ya”. But I am totally sincere when I say that I hate being lied to. It simply leaves me feeling foolish, and it is embarrassing when I find out that I am believing a lie, and other people know the truth.
Could you handle being told it’s “None Ya”?
